What's Involved
Every loft conversion starts with a proper assessment of your roof structure, headroom, and access requirements. From there, we handle the lot — structural work, insulation, Velux or dormer windows, staircase installation, electrical works, plastering, and finishing. We manage building control submissions and ensure all work is fully compliant and signed off.
Our director is a qualified electrician with over 20 years of industry experience. All electrical installations are delivered through our NICEIC-approved sister company, so your new space is wired to the highest standard - not subcontracted out to whoever's available.
Dormer Loft Conversions
A dormer conversion extends the roof vertically to create additional headroom and floor space, making it the most practical choice for bedrooms, home offices, or en-suite bathrooms. We design and build dormer structures to a high finish, ensuring they complement the existing roofline and meet planning requirements.
Velux Loft Conversions
Where headroom already allows, a Velux conversion is the most straightforward route to a usable loft room. Structurally less involved, but no less considered in terms of finish - insulation, flooring, lighting, and access all need to be right.
Why Bluerock
Most building companies subcontract the majority of the work on a loft conversion. Bluerock doesn't. Our team covers joinery, plastering, and electrical - the three trades that make or break a loft conversion. That means better quality control, fewer delays, and a single company responsible for the finished result.
We work with homeowners and private clients across Ayrshire, including Ayr, Prestwick, Kilwinning and Kilmarnock, who want the job done properly, on time, and without the usual headaches
